I’ve been looking for volunteering opportunities that involve children. You know, those meet and get to know them kind of stuff? Every child has the potential to become someone great in their own rights, but social circumstances sometimes interfere to batter their self-esteem.

And the problem is that when we start losing confidence in ourselves, the insidious ‘darkness’ from within starts to grow and gnaw at us. We start looking for ersatz substitutes to fill in this hole even when these inferior superficialities may only fuel dependency or accentuate the initial problem. But if we could become the beacon of light in these murky waters for these troubled souls, we might just steer them into safer seas.

Anyway, I think this will be a good starting point for me to begin some volunteer work (apart from Y Camp), so if you know of any of such opportunities, please let me know! I’m looking for something more periodic, like once a week or fortnight or something.
